Our Senior side have completed three games so far this pre-season, each time taking a different squad to give plenty of game time across the board from our youth players to new faces! So far the lads have faced 2 strong sides in FC Hammers & Sutton Rovers.

Yesterday, they headed over to Billinghay where Spa started well, controlling the ball and pressing high. This unfortunately was ended by a good finish by the Billinghay forward from a tight angle into the bottom corner. Spa kept pressing, and had numerous chances before Turner Kingswood broke through from full back and played the ball to Tyler Newman to put into an open net.
The second half started strongly again with a few changes to the side, and the passing starting to break the Billinghay lines. A long throw in the box from Tom Fiddies fell back to his feet, who fired a ball into the box and Josh Burgess managed to get a touch to put it in at the near post. Towards the end of the game, Billinghay were awarded a penalty which was dispatched leaving the game at 2-2.
In the final 10 minutes, Spa had a free kick 25 yards from goal, Kingswood stepped up and fired into the top corner.
A good 3-2 victory and a strong performance, with all 14 players getting involved and putting a real shift in. Big thanks to the hosts and we wish you all the best for your season ahead!
