Our senior side bow out of the Fishtoft Cup this year after a very disappointing 2nd half performance.

It didn’t start great for the team either, as within the first 10minutes saw the lads go behind 2-0. But then they got on top, started moving the ball better and looking sharp going forward. Jamie Clark going close with a header from a corner, Jack Draper and Harley Stanton both going close with efforts from range. Jack Draper pulled a goal back after some good play by Jamie and Dan Allen down the left, Dan finding a superb cross which was headed in nicely! Spa kept the pressure on and thought they had equalised after another effort by Harley was brilliantly tipped wide by the keeper! And Jamie also being denied at point blank range to keep the score 2-1. 2 injuries in the first half also didn’t help Spas cause, and we hope they return swiftly!

The 2nd half began and once more Spa never got out of the dressing room, slow to react and being carved open easily! Full credit to Park who took their chances well to progress.

Today also marked the final game of Player/Manager Dan Howitt taking the team, as he takes a step back from the role. The club would like to pass on their gratitude for the time and effort Dan has put in from last year till now. Tom Fletcher will step into the role as interim coach. Dan also passed on his thanks to all players, for their hard work and commitment. And hopes the boys can rally together and start picking up some good results!
