Our U10's visited Alford Town, the team's first game back since the Christmas break. Here's what coach Alan had to say;

The Bakerees launched their very own windmill of magnificent, passing intricacy. The ball flew from one to another to another in bewildering triangular patterns as it skimmed and fizzed across the wet surface. Orchestrating the entire procedure was our very own conductor, Arthur whose rapid-fire interplay with Ollie, Hugo and Isaac was joyous to behold. The hosts were lost and had few answers, and on the one occasion they did manage an out-of-the-blue, superb shot, young Jack flew high to his left to make the save-of-the-season so far.
The second half, despite the glueyness of the deteriorating pitch, continued in the same vein with the ball only getting a well-earned breather on the occasions it nestled in the host’s net. Terrific displays from our Freddie, the rock that is Raplh, Eli and the goal-scoring William almost brought the curtain down on an excellent display but the final act was left to the marauding Isaac, who let fly from the edge of the box to open his account with the first of the many goals we now expect him to score.
As we start the second half of the season, we coaches are happy that there is continuous progress – the team has a good 3-2-1 shape with everyone knowing their roles - the passing and moving are improving and there is a lot to look forward to. Whatever the rest of the season brings, we intend to move up at least one Division next year to compete against better players and better teams. We believe that the boys are ready.
